Through 5 interactive modules, participants will learn trauma-informed safeguarding strategies, media literacy, and how to support youth (12–18) facing digital harms like sextortion, coercive control, and online ambiguity.

A comprehensive, interactive course for youth workers interested in bridging the gap between inclusive sex education and modern digital realities. It allows you to experience the full potential of the SALTO-YOUTH HOP platform through diverse, engaging activities while building practical safeguarding and media literacy skills. It can be completed at your own pace, but it is even more impactful and fun when explored and discussed with colleagues or your local youth work team!
Who is this course for?
- Youth workers, educators, social workers, and community leaders supporting adolescents (ages 12–18).
- Professionals working in schools, NGOs, youth centers, or sports clubs across Europe.
- No prior expertise in sex education is required—just a commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental spaces for young people.
What You Will Learn (The 5 Modules)?
- Foundations of Inclusive Sex Education: Master the core principles of UNESCO’s Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and learn to create shame-free, accessible learning environments.
- Consent & Gender Justice: Apply the FRIES model of consent and dismantle harmful gender norms that impact teen relationships.
- Navigating the Digital Sexual Landscape: Develop critical media literacy to help teens analyze the impact of pornography, social media algorithms, and body image pressures.
- Teaching Digital Safety & Ethical Online Behavior: Learn concrete, step-by-step first-response protocols for digital harms, including Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII), sextortion, and coercive control.
- Modern Relationships in the Digital Age: Decode modern digital dating dynamics (situationships, ghosting, breadcrumbing) and equip teens with tools to set healthy boundaries and build emotional resilience.

- How to apply inclusive principles: Master the core, rights-based frameworks of UNESCO’s Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to create shame-free learning environments.
- How to respond to digital harm: Learn concrete, trauma-informed first-response protocols for issues like Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII), sextortion, and digital coercive control.
- How to navigate modern relationships: Decode current digital dating dynamics (situationships, ghosting, breadcrumbing) and equip teens with tools to set healthy boundaries.
- How to use HOP’s interactive tools: Experience firsthand how branching scenarios, dialog cards, and collaborative wikis can make complex topics engaging, safe, and highly effective for youth work.
Certification
Upon successful completion of all modules and the final feedback survey, participants will receive an Official Certificate of Completion. This certificate recognizes your advanced competency in sexual and digital health literacy and can be used for professional development portfolios.
Project Context
The course is a result of the project coordinated by Kehsia asbl, based in Luxembourg. Sexuality Connect brings together a consortium of two expert organizations besides Kehsia: Donnexstrada (Italy) and EUducate (Spain). This transnational consortium combines complementary strenghts, ensuring that Sexuality Connect delivers both innovation and impact across Europe.
Developed under the Erasmus+ KA210 "Sexuality Connect" project, this course empowers youth workers to raise awareness, safe, resilient, and digitally literate young people across Europe.
